Pwn your iPhone! – ob das zum geflügelten Wort wird?

Die Jungs vom iPhone DevTeam werkeln immer noch im Hintergrund am iPhone, obwohl die Gitterstäbe der aktuellen Gerätegeneration doch bereits aufgebogen sind.

Da fragt man sich: Warum?

Um den Unlock, die Aktivierung und den Jailbreak ‚zukunftssicher‘ werden zu lassen, soll am heutigen Sonntag ein Tool präsentiert werden, das als ‚ultimativer Unlock‘ angekündigt ist.

Der so genannte BootNeuter soll das Starten von einer modifizierter iPhone-Firmware erlauben, die dann ganz dreist über Apples eigenes Musikprogramm iTunes eingespielt wird. Diese ‚unterstützt‘ bereits den aktuellen Beta-Build der Firmware 2.0 und führt alle notwendigen Schritte aus.

Für das iPhone vergibt Apple intern Namen für die Firmware-Versionen von populären Skigebieten, weshalb die aktuelle Version 1.2 unter der Bezeichnung ‚Aspen‘ kursiert. Version 1.1.1 hieß übrigens ‚SnowBird‘, 1.1.2 war eine Ausnahme mit ‚Oktoberfest‘ und 1.1.3 wurde intern als ‚LittleBear‘ bezeichnet.

Positiv auf das iPhone bezogen finde ich persönlich ja, das OS X-Benutzer mit so klein Programmen ein wenig früher bedacht werden as die Windows-Fraktion. Irgendwie ungewohnt.

Aber das Wichtigste zum Schluss: Durch die modifizierte Firmware wird endlich ein angepasstes iPhone-Bootlogo möglich!
