Homescreens: Juli 2014 (iPhone 5s + iPad Air)

Ein Update für meine Artikelserie ‚Homescreens‘ ist überfällig. Pünktlich zum Ausklang von iOS 7 sei diesem Versäumnis nachgearbeitet.

Drei Kleinigkeiten vorab: Mit dem Parallaxeeffekt habe ich mich noch immer nicht angefreundet und ihn deshalb in den Systemeinstellungen „reduziert“ (➞ Allgemein ➞ Bedienungshilfen). Ein schwarzer Background knall hinter den App-Icons meiner Auffassung nach am besten und das ständig wechselnde Wallpaper im Standby-Screen zeigt derzeit diesen Heißluftballon.

iPhone 5s

Mittlerweile verwende ich nur noch eine Homescreen-Seite und zwinge mich dort nur einen einzigen Ordner anzulegen. 135 Plätze stehen hier für Apps zur Verfügung. Neben Spotlight, meinem ‚App-Starter‘, ist Launch Center Pro zurück im Setup, das (immer noch) ein tolles Tool für Abkürzungen durch iOS ist. Ich plane, die von mir über mehrere Wochen und Monate angelegten ‚Workflows‘ in einem eigenen Artikel vorzustellen.

iPad Air

Beim iPad greift die selbst auferlegte ‚Ein-Ordner‘-Regel allerdings nicht. Die ‚Kids‘-Sektion, in der sich vor allem (interaktive) Kinderbücher befinden, denen ich mich zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt ausführlich widmen möchte, lässt sich getrennt von den restlichen Apps wesentlich leichter durchsuchen. Ähnlich geht es mir mit Spielen. Ein fokussierter Blick auf den installierten Entertainment-Katalog ist wesentlichen hilfreicher als mehr Ordnung auf dem Homescreen.

Auch für Apps, die den Blog-Betrieb aufrecht erhalten, ist die optische Trennung effizienter. Zu häufig wechsele ich zwischen Programmen für Text-, Bild- und Code-Gestaltung.
