Björks Album ‚Biophilia‘ mit iPad-Beteiligung

Das siebte Album der isländischen Sängerin Björk, ‚Biophilia‚, geplant für Herbst 2011, wird ein Mix aus Live-Show, Album und iPad-App.

Biophilia for iPad will include around 10 separate apps, all housed within one „mother“ app. Each of the smaller apps will relate to a different track from the album, allowing people to explore and interact with the song’s themes or even make a completely new version.

She added, “I definitely wanted the songs to be a spatial experience, where you can play with lightning or a crystal or the full moon and the song changes. I would like to feel the apps are equal to the song in the same way I have always aimed for the music video to be equal to the song: the 1+1 is 3 thing. Not that it works every time, but you have to aim for it.”

Medienkünstler Scott Snibbe, bereits mit fünf iOS-Apps im Store vertreten (Link), ist mit der Software-Produktion beauftragt.

Björk steuerte bereits ‚Solar System for iPad‚ (10.99 €; App Store-Link), aus den Entwicklerhänden Touch Press – zuvor mit ‚The Elements‚ (10.99 €; App Store-Link) bekannt geworden (feat. by Apple), einen exklusiven Intro-Track der bald erscheinenden Musikzusammenstellung bei.

Sechs Live-Konzerte begleiten die Einführung des Albums. Dessen Preview-Auftakt geht heute in Manchester über die Bühne.
