Plex-Premium: iOS tankt Medien über PlexSync

Plex hat ein Geschäftsmodell! Geld konnte man zwar schon früher einwerfen, seit gestern versprüht der PlexPass jedoch erhöhten Reiz.

Using PlexSync, you can flag content from your library (or from certain channels) for download. Once you’ve done that, your server will convert the content you selected to a compatible format, and the mobile client will download the content to your device so you can view it when you’re offline.

Ich konnte das Zusammenspiel zwischen dem Plex-Server und der (öfters erwähnten) iOS-App (4.49 €; universal; App-Store-Link) schon erfolgreich ausprobieren. Dabei fielen mir auch eine Handvoll (kleiner) Fehler vor die Füße. Daher belasse ich es an dieser Stelle mit dem kurzen Hinweis auf das große Update und lasse das reizvolle Konzept, das mir tatsächlich eine fortlaufende Abogebühr entlocken könnte, erst noch ein paar Tage auf mich wirken bevor es hier ein Feature bekommt.
